Keep In Touch

Keep in touch is our way of pet owners or rehomers stay in contact with each other. The Pets People supply both parties with annual up to date contact details as well as the means to make contact using images and messages to one another. The Keep in touch service is for users who advertise animals for sale or rehoming purposes only.

How to send a keep in touch invite?
By accessing your communications panel you can send a message by entering the persons e-mail address. If the message you send is accepted you will then be able to keep in touch and receive or send updated reports of your animal or pets welfare.

Keep in touch contacts
All of your contacts are kept in the contact folder in your communications panel. Details will be updated on a regular basis should you wish to make or remain in contact.

Messaging
The internal messaging system allows you to stay anonymous whilst receiving messages from other people. When replying to a message you can opt to either use the internal messaging system to stay anonymous or you can use your private e-mail address. If you use your private e-mail address please be aware the Pets People no longer have control over any communications you may receive.

To send a message to an advertiser click on the contact button on the ad. Enter your message and e-mail address you wish a reply to be sent.

The messaging system is not meant to be used for one account holder to contact another. Its purpose is to allow the advertiser to stay anonymous during initial contact. You do not need to create an account to send a message to an advertiser.

Rehoming

Giving up an animal
To advertise your animal in rehoming you need to create a public account or if you are an animal shelter a shelter account. The re-homing service is free and you can keep in touch with the new owner using our free "keep in touch" service.

If you are giving up your animal up for adoption please take time when selecting a new owner and consider at all times the welfare of the animal. When meeting a prospective owner please consider using our check list guide that you can print from your personal tools in your user account. It is a list of useful questions to ask and conduct the interview with.

Adopting an animal
If you are looking to adopt an animal from an owner you do not need to create an account. You only need one to place an advertisement. For your first point of contact we recommend either by telephone or sending a message by clicking on the contact button on the advertisement.

If a rehoming advertiser asks for payment in exchange for the animal they are most probably a trader operating illegally and abusing the terms of our system. Please use this link to contact us.

Please note most animal shelters and charity organisations will require a rehoming fee to recoup some of the money that has been spent on caring for the animal. This is standard practice and acceptable on the system.

eTrader

eTrader is your way to buy or sell all animal and pet related items. Post a free local classified ad now or find bargains, pet products, auto machinery, real estate and more.

Placing an ad on eTrader is free. Fees apply to any ad modifications or special features.

Pet Items
Items are defined as any object used for the care, welfare and maintenance of an animal. Free to place an ad. Fees apply to any ad modifications or special features.

Auto & Mechanical
Agricultural, vans, trucks, tractors, pick ups, 4 x 4's, trailers and boxes. Free to place an ad. Fees apply to any ad modifications or special features.

Real Estate
Agricultural land, farms, out buildings, property, and general land and property related with animals. Free to place an ad. Fees apply to any ad modifications or special features.

Jobs

Animal Jobs

Find or post jobs that enable you to work with animals or within the animal industry from businesses and shelters all over the UK. Free to advertise, job posts can only be placed by a business or shelter account. Fees apply to any ad modifications or special features.

Directory Services

Our Pet Directory lists pet clubs, pet charities, local vets, pet insurance, online stores selling pet supplies, vets, animal shelters, and more. Your guide for all animal and pet related services. Listing on the directory is free although you must hold a business or shelter account.

Changing directory details
Your contact details can be changed via your user account. To edit the text description and title you must access your current active ads in your user account panel. From the drop down panel at the top of the screen select directory listing and click on the edit tab.

Deleting a listing
To delete a listing log into your account and access the active ads panel. From the drop down panel select directory listing and click on the remove tab. Verify that you wish to delete this listing and it will be removed.

You can place another listing at any other time by simply logging in to your account and go through the listing ad feature process.
